Carolina Oneto is an Industrial Engineer with a Magister in Business Engineering. She worked in the industry and was a university teacher for more than 10 years. In the year 2010, she leaves Santiago to go to live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, the place where she discovers patchwork. She studied patchwork and quilting with Cecilia Koppman and Teresita Leal. Since then, she travels every year to the United States to learn more about this art with experienced quilters there.
In 2015 she studied “Interaction of color” (“Interacción del Color”) in the art school of the Universidad Católica de Chile. This has marked the developing of her work where the color and its interaction become a relevant part of all if her works.
In 2017 she studied “Art Quilt” with Lucia Stacchetti, Chilean artist, in Santiago Chile. In 2018, she taught workshops in Buenos Aires, Argentina and in September she participated as a teacher in the Festival The Quilt and Patchwork in Gramado, Brazil.
Since the beginning of 2019, she now lives in Brazil where she works in her study, developing her work with new techniques and experimenting with color, geometry and its’ interaction.
She is a member of the Modern Quilt Guild, a member of Studio Art Quilt Association (SAQA), and of the International Quilt Association (IQA).
