Fabric Café
Fabric Café was founded when mother-daughter team, Donna Robertson and Fran Morgan, decided to start a business together based on their love of quilting. They discussed several ideas before Fran, an avid fiber artist, began designing in stacked fabric chenille. She introduced Donna to this method of making chenille and their first quilt embellishing product was created! This led to the design of many quilt patterns based around the chenille.
In 2008, 3-yard quilts were born! The concept was so simple; a lap sized quilt that could be made with only three 1-yard cuts of coordinating fabric. Quilters rapidly embraced these easy-to-follow patterns and asked for more. Not only did Donna and Fran provide quilters with quick to sew patterns, but they also taught them how to select fabrics on their own using the concept of a focus fabric, a light fabric and a dark fabric. Soon, 3-yard quilt patterns and books became the top selling items for Fabric Café.
Demand for these easy-to-follow, quick-to-complete patterns soon led to quilt shop demand. Fabric Café 3-yard patterns and books can now be found in hundreds of quilt and retail shops.
Today Fabric Café offers many patterns and over 15 books and that number is still growing! They offer fun-to-follow tutorials on their YouTube channel at YouTube.com/FabricCafe.
